Buccellati is renowned for its precision and quality in textural gold jewelry. Their pieces were entirely hand-made, requiring extensive patience and passion for craftsmanship. Mario Buccellati was the first to introduce the technique of texture-engraving, creating a special effect of a textured line surface. It was described as "There isn't a spot of gold left untouched". Mario was known as the best craftsmen in Italy at the time, he was dubbed as "The Prince of Goldsmith". He passed away in 1967, leaving his work as a precious collectible.

A very rare and important Mario Buccellati diamond necklace handcrafted in white gold on yellow gold, open work design, accented by gold beads. Further lined with a textured gold border, with 45.25cts of diamonds. E-F color, VVS clarity. Circa 1960.
